Using the storyboards and memory cards with a group

Malaria memory cards game: preview of the free download

Pictures help people learn, especially when people speak different languages or do not read well.

Storyboards (Malaria and TB)

  • Print the pages, or show them on a screen.
  • Show one page at a time.
  • Ask: “What do you see in this picture?” Let people talk first.
  • Then read the message at the top and bottom.
  • Use the double-sided version to make a flip chart that stands on a table.

Memory Cards game

  • Print and cut out the cards. Card paper is best.
  • Place all the cards face down.
  • Players turn over two cards. If they match, they keep them.
  • Each time someone finds a pair, ask them to say one thing about the picture.
  • This works well with children and adults.

TB and HIV Snakes and Ladders

  • Print on A4. Play with a dice and small stones as counters.
  • Ladders show good choices. Snakes show risky choices.
  • Talk about each snake and ladder as you play.

Download: all three are free on the Resources page.
