Pictures help people learn, especially when people speak different languages or do not read well.
Storyboards (Malaria and TB)
- Print the pages, or show them on a screen.
- Show one page at a time.
- Ask: “What do you see in this picture?” Let people talk first.
- Then read the message at the top and bottom.
- Use the double-sided version to make a flip chart that stands on a table.
Memory Cards game
- Print and cut out the cards. Card paper is best.
- Place all the cards face down.
- Players turn over two cards. If they match, they keep them.
- Each time someone finds a pair, ask them to say one thing about the picture.
- This works well with children and adults.
TB and HIV Snakes and Ladders
- Print on A4. Play with a dice and small stones as counters.
- Ladders show good choices. Snakes show risky choices.
- Talk about each snake and ladder as you play.
Download: all three are free on the Resources page.
